Steven A. Ferzoco, MD
Dr. Ferzoco has been a Board Certified Radiologist since 1981, with a subspecialty in Interventional Radiology. After growing up in Massachusetts, he attended Princeton University and Tufts University Medical School, followed by an Internship at Memorial Hospital at the University of Massachusetts and his Residency at St. Vincent Hospital at the University of Massachusetts. He joined Lauderdale Radiology Group in 2002. He and his wife Cheryl have four children and four grandchildren.
Donald J. Bowling, MD
Dr. Bowling has been a board certified Radiologist since 1998, and has been with Lauderdale Radiology Group since 2018. Originally from Ohio, Dr. Bowling moved to Florence at 12 years old. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of North Alabama and attended the Uniformed Services University of Health Services, followed by training at Dwight D. Eisenhower Army Medical Center and a residency at the University of Colorado. After a long stint in Army with infantry, aviation and hospital duty, he returned to the Shoals in 2002. He is married with five children, and enjoys camping, hiking, rafting, U.S. military history, football, and hockey.
Tom Norman, MD
Dr. Norman has been with Lauderdale Radiology Group since 2003. He attended Middle Tennessee State University and then received his medical degree from the University of Tennessee Center for Health Sciences. He went on to complete an internship at the University of Tennessee Erlanger Hospital and a residency at the University of Tennessee Center for Health Sciences. He has served on the Lincoln County Commission and the Hospital Board for Lincoln Regional Hospital. Dr. Norman is also a member of the clinical faculty at the Alabama College of Osteopathic Medicine. When is is not in the office, he enjoys aviation.
Todd A. Durham, DO
Dr. Durham has been with Lauderdale Radiology Group since 2011, and is certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Radiology, with a subspecialty in Body Imaging. He completed his undergraduate studies at Auburn University and attended the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine, followed by an Internship and Residency at Michigan State University – Botsford General Hospital, in Farmington Hills, MI. He then completed his training with a Body Imaging Fellowship at the University of Alabama in Birmingham. When not in the office, he enjoys college football, hunting, fishing, golf, snow skiing, and spending time with his wife and two children.
Paul F. von Herrmann, MD
Dr. von Herrmann has been with Lauderdale Radiology Group since 2016, and is certified by the American Board of Radiology with a subspecialty in Musculoskeletal Imaging. He grew up in the Atlanta area and first moved to Alabama while attending Samford University on a Track and Field scholarship. A two-time conference champion in the 800 meters, he held multiple school records upon graduation and graduated in 2002. He then attended Medical College of Georgia on a Navy scholarship and after medical school and internship, served as a US Naval Flight Surgeon with TW-5 in Milton, Florida and was awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal for his service. He then went on to the University of Kentucky for both residency and fellowship and was Chief Resident of Radiology. He and his wife, Missy, have four children and live in Florence, and enjoys running, weight lifting and home projects in his spare time.
D. Scott Fields, DO
Dr. Fields has been with Lauderdale Radiology Group since 2010 and specializes in Neuroradiology. Originally from Mississippi, he received a bachelor’s degree in Biology from Mississippi College. Dr. Fields received his medical degree from Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences. He went on to complete an internship in General Surgery and residency in Diagnostic Radiology at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky. He also completed his Neuroradiology fellowship at the University of Alabama-Birmingham. He is board certified by the American Board of Radiology. He and his wife, Anna, have been married for over 25 years and have three children. He enjoys books and a host of outdoor activities including horses and golf.
John Scott, DO
Dr. Scott joined Lauderdale Radiology Group in 2021, and is certified by the American Board of Radiology in both Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology. He is originally from Montgomery, AL. He received his bachelor’s degree from Auburn University where he was a two-time NCAA All-American and a member of four NCAA Swimming and Diving national championship teams. He attended William Carey University College of Osteopathic Medicine. After completing his intern year with the Montgomery Internal Medicine Program, he then went on to Baptist Memorial Radiology Residency in Memphis, TN. In Memphis, he completed his diagnostic residency where he served as Chief of Education. Following residency, Dr. Scott completed a fellowship in Vascular and Interventional Radiology at the University of North Carolina. He has a special interest in Interventional Oncology and Prostate Artery Embolization. He and his wife, Allison, have two children and live in Florence. In his spare time, he enjoys being outdoors, traveling, and spending time on Wilson Lake with his family.
Kristin K. Porter, MD, PhD
Dr. Kristin Kelly Porter has been with the Lauderdale Radiology group since 2022 and is certified by the American Board of Radiology with a subspecialty in Body MRI. Kristin completed her undergraduate studies at Dartmouth College, where she met her husband, Jay Porter, who is from Birmingham, AL. She completed her Diagnostic Radiology Residency in the Department of Radiology and Radiological Science at Johns Hopkins Hospital in 2014 and the Body and Cardiovascular MRI Fellowship at Johns Hopkins in 2015. After training, she joined the faculty at Johns Hopkins in the Body Imaging Division. In 2016, she joined the Abdominal Imaging faculty at the University of Alabama Birmingham, where she served as the MR Modality Chief. She was honored to serve as the President of the American Association for Women in Radiology in 2021. Kristin and Jay have three children and caring for them is her greatest joy. She also loves gathering with family and friends, traveling, and reading.
